LABEL provides three separate identifier commands for information the surveyor may need without creating a label. Parcel Identifier, Road Identifier, and Creek Identifier each query the applicable supported source from the selected drawing coordinate and show the result in one closeable quick-view palette that can remain open while the surveyor works.
What that means on a drawing
A surveyor can click an adjoining parcel and review the returned ownership, deed, property, and available assessment-history details without placing an ownership label. The same quick-view can identify a road or creek through its own command. Closing the viewer leaves the drawing unchanged; retaining information is always a separate surveyor choice.
Detailed capabilities
- Parcel Identifier uses the selected drawing coordinate to query MapWV directly through the same coordinate lookup path used by LABEL ONE; MapWV does not need to be open or visible.
- Parcel Identifier presents available parcel identity, ownership, deed, address, acreage, property, and MapWV assessment ownership and deed-history information in organized sections.
- Road Identifier queries the active supported road sources at the selected drawing coordinate and displays the returned road name and public route details.
- Creek Identifier queries the active supported hydro sources and displays the returned watercourse name, aliases, classification, feature identity, and source references.
- Keeps the three lookup commands separate even though they use one persistent, closeable LABEL Identifier palette.
- Replaces only the visible quick-view result when another identifier is used and does not create a drawing label merely because a feature was identified.
- Lets the surveyor select the displayed sections to retain and copy those details to the clipboard.
- Saves the selected details as a standalone UTF-8 text report so the identifier remains useful without Parcel Finder or a GILES POINT COMMAND project.
- Adds selected details to the drawing only on request, as ordinary editable annotative MText on the dedicated BW-LW-IDENTIFIERS layer.
- Runs entirely inside LABEL without requiring a Parcel Finder or GILES POINT COMMAND cache, database, project, or runtime dependency.
How the surveyor uses it
- Choose Parcel Identifier, Road Identifier, or Creek Identifier for the type of feature being inspected.
- Select the feature location in the drawing so LABEL can query the applicable supported source by coordinate.
- Review the returned sections in the persistent Identifier palette while continuing to work in the drawing as needed.
- Close the palette with no drawing change, or select the sections that should be retained.
- Copy the selected details, save them as a standalone text report, or explicitly add them to the drawing as editable annotative MText.
Identifiers are information-retrieval and quick-view tools. They do not create a label automatically, select or alter a survey boundary, convert tax or source geometry into survey evidence, or require another GILES POINT SOFTWARE product. Any text retained in the drawing is ordinary editable annotation placed only after the surveyor explicitly chooses Add to Drawing.
