Places survey symbols from the surveyor's point-description template, keeps ambiguous or unmapped evidence visible for review, and leaves every symbol movable presentation.

Turn the surveyor's own point descriptions into reviewed corner symbols without inventing monument evidence.

Corner Symbols places presentation blocks or plain AutoCAD points at the vertices of one selected closed boundary. Its surveyor-owned template maps an exact normalized raw or full PNode description to a known displayed block whose appearance has been calibrated at a drawing scale.

What that means on a drawing

A mapped IRF point description can place the surveyor's approved found-iron block. A corner with no PNode receives a plain AutoCAD POINT rather than a manufactured monument. An unmapped description or two competing PNodes remains visible in the same vertex-by-vertex review so the surveyor can choose a block, POINT, moved position, or Skip.

Detailed capabilities

  • Maps exact normalized raw or full PNode description codes to surveyor-selected block definitions, with the raw description taking priority when both are present.
  • Stores the reusable template under the current surveyor's LABEL profile and reports the exact template path on request.
  • Shows one vertex-by-vertex preview for the selected closed model-space boundary before any presentation object is placed.
  • Creates a plain AutoCAD POINT when no supported PNode exists at a boundary corner and records no invented monument meaning.
  • Holds unmapped, ambiguous, or multiply grounded PNode evidence for that corner's review without blocking valid placements at the other vertices.
  • Lets the surveyor override a proposal with an approved block, a POINT, a moved presentation position, or Skip.
  • Uses the graphical center of a legacy symbol by default so an imperfect old base point does not keep the visible marker from covering the corner.
  • Uses a validated Symbol Upgrader insertion or an explicitly calibrated conventional block insertion when that anchor type was approved.
  • Scales non-annotative legacy references with the current annotation scale while retaining the calibrated reference scale of an already annotative block and adding the drawing's defined annotation contexts.
  • Stores the immutable boundary coordinate, separate movable presentation coordinate, vertex identity, boundary fingerprint, and source PNode facts on every placed block or POINT.
  • Rechecks that the exact selected boundary has not changed between preview and placement.

How the surveyor uses it

  1. Use Corner Symbol Template to map each exact point-description code to the block whose visible appearance is correct at the calibration scale.
  2. Select one exact closed model-space boundary and open the single vertex-by-vertex review.
  3. Review mapped blocks, plain no-PNode points, and any unmapped or competing PNode holds.
  4. Choose a block, POINT, moved position, or Skip at each corner that needs a surveyor decision.
  5. Approve the complete plan so the presentation objects are placed with their boundary and source identities retained. Move them later with ordinary AutoCAD editing when the sheet requires it.
Drawing and professional boundary

Corner Symbols places appearance-only blocks or points; it never changes the selected boundary or any COGO/PNode object. A no-PNode corner remains a plain point, and unclear point evidence remains a review item. Moving a placed symbol changes only its presentation coordinate—the stored exact boundary corner and source point evidence remain unchanged.
