Acreage Labeler creates one annotative MText area label from an exact surveyor-selected closed model-space polyline. The displayed wording is flexible, but the label retains the boundary identity, arc-aware geometry fingerprint, source units, conversion basis, and unrounded values that produced it.

What that means on a drawing

A surveyor can show 30.35 ACRES on the sheet while LABEL retains the complete unrounded acre, square-foot, square-yard, square-meter, and hectare values behind the annotation. If the exact boundary changes, the calculated text refreshes in place without moving or reformatting the label.

Detailed capabilities

  • Accepts one exact closed model-space LWPOLYLINE and calculates area from its surveyor-drawn straight and curved geometry.
  • Supports U.S. survey-foot, international-foot, and meter source coordinates.
  • Displays acres, square feet, square yards, square meters, hectares, acres with square feet, or acres with square meters.
  • Keeps separate precision controls for acres and the other area units, with full-unit or abbreviated wording and surveyor-controlled prefix, suffix, and combined-label order.
  • Controls layer, text style, paper height, color, background mask, MText frame, and the option to show the template when the tool starts.
  • Stores unrounded converted values separately from the rounded visible annotation and reports them through the Acreage Label audit.
  • Refreshes only from the registered exact boundary after its edit command finishes, preserving the label's location, rotation, handle, style, formatting, and exact trailing surveyor-added MText paragraph.
  • Restores an edited visible calculated value from the boundary on refresh while preserving the surveyor's supported trailing wording.
  • Marks the label visibly stale if its registered boundary is erased, opened, or otherwise invalid and never silently attaches it to a nearby polyline.
  • Allows standard AutoCAD EXPLODE to leave ordinary visible text with no live acreage relationship while leaving the source boundary unchanged.

How the surveyor uses it

  1. Choose or review the acreage template, including source coordinate units, display units, wording, precision, and presentation.
  2. Select the exact closed model-space boundary that owns the area calculation.
  3. Place the annotative MText where it belongs on the drawing and add supported trailing wording when needed.
  4. Let an edit to that exact registered boundary refresh the computed area after the active AutoCAD command ends, or run the focused Refresh command when recovery is needed.
  5. Use Audit to review the live boundary relationship and unrounded values, or EXPLODE when the visible result should become ordinary unmanaged CAD text.
Drawing and professional boundary

Acreage Labeler derives area only from the exact closed CAD boundary selected by the surveyor and the source-unit choice made in its template. GIS parcels, imagery, and nearby polylines do not supply or repair the calculation. A stale relationship remains visibly stale until the exact registered boundary is valid again; LABEL does not guess a replacement.
